SIE, Spain is Excellence, has presented the SIE Awards for Corporate Excellence. In its second edition, these awards aim to highlight companies that, due to their international representation, are key to the positioning of the Spain brand.

At the gala, which was held at the rooftop Picos Pardos Sky Lounge by Martini at the BLESS Hotel Madrid, the following were awarded the prizes Spanish Basketball Federation; the Academy of Performing Arts, Iberia, IE University, Banco Sabadell; Acciona Cultura and the artist "dEmo".

Ana Alonso, CEO of SIE, Spain is ExcellenceHe highlighted the value that these companies make both outside and inside our borders, positioning the Spain brand and showing excellence in the activities they carry out. He stressed that his award is linked to the SIE seal of quality, in which they focus on YES to Spain, Excellence, Education, Elegance, Team, etc.

The gala was attended by important personalities from the world of business, sport and culture. Fernando Romay, ambassador and representative
institutional of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) has collected the prize awarded to the FEB. The organisation that manages basketball in Spain has more than 350,000 federated players, making it the second sports federation with the most licences in Spain. In July 2023 it will be 100 years old, a century of history in which it has participated in the triumphs of both the Spanish national team and the different clubs in international competitions, thus promoting the Spain brand. Particularly outstanding has been the record achieved by our athletes in 2022, an exceptional year in which they won four gold medals, including the European men's senior men's medal, and five silver medals, two of them at the World Championships.

 

The world of art was represented by the president of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts, Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo, who received the award from Ana Saura, producer and daughter of the recently deceased Carlos Saura. The actress and communicator expressed her gratitude for the recognition XX The objectives of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain are to promote, defend and dignify all the artistic disciplines of the Performing Arts in our country, foster their development and encourage their national and international promotion, giving value to our artists inside and outside Spain.
José María López-Galiacho, CEO of ACCUONA Cultura, accepted the award for ACCIONA Culture. ACCIONA Culture is positioned as the leading company in the design and production of museums, events, immersive experiences and interiors. With more than 30 years of experience, it has iconic projects in 43 countries on five continents and more than 200 awards for creativity, innovation and sustainability. 


Spain's leading airline, Iberia has also been awarded for its contribution to the internationalisation of the Spain brand thanks to its commitment to quality and service excellence over almost a century of history. Today, Iberia is one of the continent's largest airlines, flying from its Madrid hub to 135 destinations in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. A global network, in which Iberia's
connections between Europe and Latin America, where it is the leading airline. Teresa Parejo Navajas, Director of Sustainability and CSR, collected the award.

Juan José Güemes, Vice President for Economics at IE University has been in charge of collecting the prize awarded to IE UniversityIE University, an institution that for 50 years has been committed to cutting-edge thinking and innovative education, preparing its students to lead the evolution of the future. Recognised as one of the best universities in the world, IE University's students come from more than 100 different countries.

In the financial sector, José Manuel Candela, Banc Sabadell's Central Territorial Sales Directorhas received the prize awarded by SIE Spain is Excellence to the Banco Sabadell. Founded in 1881, it is one of Spain's leading banks with more than six million customers. Its main activities are commercial banking, business banking, corporate banking and private banking. It stands out for its strong focus on international business, especially since 2010 when it created Sabadell United Bank, notably increasing its presence in various countries in the Americas.

SIE Spain is Excellence has also valued the great international projection of the artist. Eladio de Mora, dEmo, a multidisciplinary creator with an unmistakable aesthetic rooted in POP. In recent years his works have become an almost constant presence on the exteriors of museums and galleries around the world. dEmo manages to find double readings and transform everyday elements and objects that invite to play into true icons.
