This event brought together representatives from the tourism sector, the media and sustainability experts to present this innovative certification that seeks to position Spain as a global benchmark in tourism excellence.
The SIE Seal is the main hallmark of Spain is Excellence and recognises those establishments and companies that meet demanding criteria of quality, sustainability and authenticity. Its aim is to promote a tourism model based on excellence, ensuring first class experiences for national and international travellers.
For its part, the SIE Laurel Seal represents the highest distinction awarded by SIE and is reserved for those organisations that not only meet the standards of excellence, but exceed them. This recognition makes its award winners ambassadors of high-level tourism in Spain, promoting the country's image as a unique and exclusive destination.

According to Ana Alonso, CEO of SIE, Spain is ExcellenceThe SIE certification aims to transform the Spanish tourism sector with an impact comparable to that of the Michelin stars in gastronomy. "The SIE Seal guarantees authentic and sustainable experiences, raising Spain's image as a benchmark destination for tourism excellence," he said.
The development and implementation of these seals have involved the collaboration of Cavalaa consultancy specialising in sustainability and business excellence. Rut Ballesteros, managing partner of Cavala, stressed that this certification "reinforces Spain's commitment to competitive tourism, based on respect for cultural and natural heritage, promoting best practices in the sector".
