Fashion and excellence: Pedro del Hierro at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid
On 18 March, SIE members enjoyed a unique experience at the Pedro del Hierro fashion show.
Atrium is not just a landmark hotel and restaurant; it is a space where gastronomy and art coexist naturally. Every corner of the establishment is carefully decorated with works that reflect sensitivity, history and personality. Currently, its collection includes numerous works by national and international artists, making it a true haven for art lovers.
Among them is a painting by the Extremaduran artist Juan Barjolalocated in the Junior Suite Deluxe 101, which in addition to its artistic value, holds an endearing and amusing anecdote. The work was a gift from José Polo a Toño Pérez. When José decided to buy it, Barjola, now older and working on large paintings, came down the stairs and asked him:
"Are you sure, son, that you want to buy it?"
Joseph's response was clear:
"Yes, yes, I want to give it to Toño".
And Barjola, with his characteristic humour, responded by descending the stairs:
"Nobody likes this anymore!"
Beyond the joke, the scene shows how a spontaneous moment can turn a work of art into a personal gesture full of meaning. Today, this painting is integrated into the universe of Atrio, where each work contributes to the atmosphere of the place: a space where the senses are activated, history is breathed and each visitor can enjoy an experience that goes beyond gastronomy.
At Atrio, art is not only contemplated; it is lived, shared and becomes part of the experience of those who pass through its doors, creating a dialogue between cuisine, creativity and cultural heritage that makes it unique.
