On the 3rd and 4th of December, SIE, Spain Is Excellence, organised an exclusive FAM Trip to the emblematic Monastery of San Pelayo, located in the heart of Palencia. This unique enclave, awarded the prestigious Green Life Country seal for its unwavering commitment to sustainability, stood out as the perfect setting for those seeking authentic experiences and personalised events.
During the days 3 and 4 December 2024five member agencies of SIE, Spain Is Excellence, had the opportunity to explore the magic of the Monastery of San Pelayoa historic enclave in the heart of south-eastern Palencia. This place, with centuries of history, has been lovingly restored to preserve its essence and adapt it to the needs of the contemporary traveller, always maintaining a profound respect for the environment, certified with the Green Life Country.
The monastery, surrounded by gardens, fields and Mediterranean mountains, is much more than a destination: it is an invitation to disconnect from the frenetic pace of modern life. In its calm and sophisticated setting, attendees were able to immerse themselves in an experience where history, nature and gastronomy converge to offer unforgettable moments.
The experience began with a guided tour that allowed the SIE agencies to discover the most emblematic corners of the monastery. In its courtyards and orchards, the connection with nature was the protagonist, while the peaceful atmosphere invited to relax. The days featured open-air lunches and dinners in the monastery's outstanding surroundings, where each dish, prepared with local seasonal produce, offered an authentic gastronomic experience that reflected the essence of the place.
The second day brought with it a unique experience: black truffle picking, a reflection of the natural richness of the region, which added a distinctive touch to the visit. In addition, the medieval kitchen of the monastery served as the perfect setting for a farewell lunch, bringing an excellent trip to an end.
